FTA Section 5310 -  Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program

FTA Section 5310 funds are authorized via the federal transportation bill to provide mobility for elderly and persons with disabilities in areas of less than 200,000 population and where public mass transportation services are otherwise unavailable, insufficient or inappropriate.  Funding cycles vary from two to three years.  Grant applications are reviewed and prioritized by SRTA and then submitted to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) for approval.  Recent awards include operating expenses for Golden Umbrella, including the Foster Grandparent program and Senior Companion program, and the purchase of new vehicles for Dignity Health Connected Living.
