BluePrint - ShastaFORWARD

Completed in March 2010, the ShastaFORWARD>> Regional Blueprint employed sophisticated computer 'modeling' and analysis to generate visualizations of Shasta County's most likely future based on current growth and development trends.  A range of community-driven alternative growth and development scenarios aligned with community values and priorities we're developed and voted on by local residents.


In all, one out of every sixty adults in Shasta County participated in the process.  Key outcomes included:
  • A comprehensive community values and priorities assessment; 
  • A set of performance metrics for measuring the impacts of growth and development; and
  • A community-preferred vision for the long-term future of Shasta County.
These results informed development of the Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) component of the 2015 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).
